Who I Am

Born in the Netherlands and now based in Southampton, New York, Niels Schröder is a cinematographer, director and editor with more than two decades of experience in film and visual storytelling.

Niels began his career working across Europe for national and commercial television networks, international corporations and cultural organizations. His work has taken him from documentary filmmaking and television to commercial productions, luxury brands, cultural institutions and live events.

Today, Niels Media brings that experience to every production with a distinctly cinematic approach. Whether creating a brand film, documenting a cultural institution, capturing an event or telling the story behind a designer and their work, Niels focuses on the people, places, details and moments that give each story its character.

Based in Southampton, Niels works throughout the Hamptons, Long Island and New York City, as well as with clients beyond the region.
